Completion of the final 3 miles of the trail--and a bridge over Highway 9--is scheduled for the summer of 2012.  Crews will work when possible during the winter, installing pilings for the bridge and doing preparation work spring spring paving and bridge installation

Local officials are happy about the news that the Trout Run Trail is getting another $750,000 in state funding. The awarding of the Iowa DOT grant means the trail has now received over $4 million in state grants. The project has received funding from Vision Iowa, DOT Enhancement, Iowa Great Places, REAP and State Trails Grants.
